Tagme - Fixing up the Unfixable

Posted under Tags

Okay so, recently I've taken an interest in tagging others posts for a couple reasons. If I work hard enough maybe the site will notice me, and I feel like I'm also gaining great knowledge with tag use over time. But here's one of the problems.
I wanna make my goal to clean up as many posts as possible under the "tagme" tag, and so far I've been pretty successful. Cleaning up tags, learning about new tags, and helping others who are either lazy, or don't know how to tag posts. Either way, I don't have a problem with it, and it's kinda a nice past time as I'm on winter break and only have my laptop, so I can't really render anything right now. But...
After scrolling through the tagme page, I have learned that somewhere around 700 out of the 820 currently 'tagme' tagged posts, are from 1 singular uploader. IN ONE STYLE. (probably more like 780 out of 820 posts. There are only others posts on the first page (out of 5))
I don't want to question this uploader, since its an admin on the site, but I will question the posts.
It is consistent posts of photo realistic pictures, it is all purely in one photorealistic style. They can be tagged but, isn't this site mainly for anime art? All these posts are is clutter to the tag, post #870 is a great example of this. It was all spammed and posted about 2 months ago, every single one of the posts, and I don't think any single person on here who's trying to fix these "tagme" posts wants to even try with this. My proposal is take all of these down. Little to no views, little to no upvotes, and completely fills up the entire "tagme" tag page.
If you're curious about this, go look at the "tagme" tag yourself, and you'll see what I mean. It starts at the bottom of page 1, and the next and only 4 pages are completely filled with these.
Let me know your thoughts on this.

This was partially my fault. When those uploads were submitted they were originally tagged, however in the really early days/weeks of the site there were a lot of posts that were tagged badly and many posts had so much tag padding that I just decided to clear them out and tagme them in the hopes I would return to them later and clean it up, but then I had other things that had my attention and I sort of just put it on the back-burner...

Technically no. AIBooru isn't as restrictive about scope of art like Danbooru (being solely anime focused) because AI-Generated art isn't only anime. Early on in the sites days, the more realistic/photorealistic style being more prominent was because Stable Diffusion was out, then Waifu Diffusion came long, and it (I think) wasn't really until NovelAI blew up that anime stuff started really taking over.

A fair amount of the Contributors/Approvers+ are also Danbooru users (myself included) so I think there might be an approval bias toward anime-styled stuff, but I can't really tell you because approving is subjective and I've rejected just as many anime-styled posts as I have realistic looking ones.

I don't need to look. Tagme is mainly filled that way because of me. Also, most of those posts have poor views because they're older ones (from when the site only had a handful of users and not, like... 1,000 of them and they're not tagged so they're not easily searchable.

Anyway, I disagree with deleting posts because of that reason. Tags can be added/adjusted at anytime so there's not really any pressure to make everything perfect super quick. If anyone is interested in cleaning it up, then I fully commend them for taking the initiative.

Also, people still upload poorly tagged posts everyday so I just think it would be a bad precedent to set like that.

Fair enough. I'm not here to blame anyone or anything, just here to question about it. I'm glad you could answer. Maybe one of these days I'll decide to fix up some of them, but if I start I know I'm going to want to try to finish it all lol. Thanks for the response though and clarifying up some things :)

I've also been cleaning up tagme a little, but my main focus is on getting has prompt & has seed out of the way.

And extra info about the first few hundred posts - they were tagged with AI tags and nothing more, so obviously it was full of mistags and hence just cleared up.

I see. No worries, I think I'll stick with clearing up "tagme". Its kinda fun to be honest hehe~. Hope all goes well for ya~ :3
