She is the leader of Matis, which consists of herself, Drake, and Maxwell. Laplace strives to do heroic works in the Ark, thus serving as an antithesis to Drake. However, her heroism often puts her in reckless situations that may endanger others.
Like other members of Matis, Laplace is named after a famous scientist, namely Pierre-Simon Laplace, who is known for the Laplace equation and Laplace transform.
