A purpose-built course for car or horse racing, usually with seating for fans to watch. For the type of track used for track and field events, see running track.
Motorsport tracks are typically paved, though dirt tracks for rallycross, motocross, and certain stock cars are also used. Horse racing tracks are always dirt-based.
