Edit
SNK, an acronym of Shin Nihon Kikaku (新日本企画, lit. "New Japan Project"), is a video game company, most notable for its various fighting games (like The King of Fighters), and arcade shooters like Metal Slug. Its main rival is Capcom.
SNK merged with Playmore in 2003 after going bankrupt in 2001 to form SNK Playmore. The company eventually changed its name to SNK in 2016.
