bar stool

A type of chair that is tall enough to sit comfortably at the raised counters and tables in many bars. Many bar stools have a built-in footrest to account for the fact that an average-sized person's legs may not be long enough to reach the floor. Despite being commonly regarded as a type of stool, some bar stools have chair-like backs or even armrests.
