fallout (series)
Fallout is a series of post-nuclear RPG games, focusing on the events of what is left of the bombed out America. It takes place in an alternate universe in which technology and aesthetics are mostly stuck in the 50's; the series draws inspiration from the science fiction of the era, particularly Forbidden Planet and Flash Gordon, and satirizes the American exceptionalism characteristic of the era.
After a resource war broke out for oil with China, America developed fusion power, however it was too late to stop the war, and the world was bombed in a two-hour event called "The Great War".
A live action series based on the games, titled simply Fallout was released in 2024.
