indianapolis (azur lane)

The USS Indianapolis (CA-35) as personified and portrayed in Azur Lane. Her older sister is Portland.

She was designed by Saru and is voiced by Yokota Aya.

As with the other shipgirls who bear the namesake with Native American-related places, she is a dark-skinned girl with very long light pink twintails with a heart ahoge and heterochromatic eyes - the left yellow, the right blue. She has facepaint underneath her eyes and her mouth is covered by a metallic turtleneck. Her attire is comprised of white uneven legwear, a white underboob-exposing bandeau, partly fingerless black gloves, mechanical horns, and grey rudder footwear. Her rigging takes shape as two gigantic mechanical arms mounted on her upper back.

She most notably sits on top of the Fat Man atomic bomb, in reference to how she was used to transport the component of the Fat Man in real life. Eventually the radiation symbol on her nuke was replaced with a cutesy devil face for untranslated reasons even though both the Japanese and Chinese playerbase took no offense to its presence and even seemed to resent the change.
