Seinen sci-fi manga by Kitou Mohiro about a girl who finds a mysterious star-shaped creature, and the resulting incidents. The full name is "Mukuro Naru Hoshi, Tama Taru Ko" or "Corpse of a Star; A Precious Child" in English. The manga ran from 1998-2003, with an anime adaptation in 2003 covering the first half of the story. The series is best known for its upbeat, cartoony opening which starkly contrasts with the extremely dark story.
