teireida mai

丁礼田舞 舞 테이레이다마이 마이

The All-Too-Dangerous Backup Dancers

A Touhou character, introduced as one of the stage 5 bosses in Hidden Star in Four Seasons.

Mai has short, green hair which she often wears with two locks. She wears a green dress with frills and a waist apron. Her dress is decorated with bows and ribbons. She has green eyes. She wears green shoes with a pair of black stockings. Her hat is a kazaori eboshi.

Along with Satono, she is based after Matarajin's two servants, Teireida and Nishida respectively. Like her mythological counterpart, she is depicted holding a bamboo plant in her character portrait.

Satono and Mai are Okina's loyal servants. They used to be human children, but Okina's magic made them less human. They dance for Okina's sake and are essentially an extension of Okina's power. Mai is depicted as scatterbrained and quick to take action. Her abilities allow her to draw out one's vitality by dancing behind them.

Notably, she's the only girl in the series to use the masculine "Boku" as her first-person pronoun of choice. Do not confuse her with Mai from Mystic Square.
