TORIKO is a 23-year-old idol with schizophrenia who lives her life in a blend of delusion and dreams. She firmly believes she is a superstar, constantly surrounded by adoring fans and even a few stalkers, but in reality, she remains a complete unknown. Her obsession with fame is reflected in everything she does: from the way she dresses, to the constant (and sometimes incomprehensible) social media posts, and her belief that every passerby is a potential admirer.
Off-stage, she is extremely introverted and often locks herself in her room, shutting the windows and plunging the space into total darkness. She’s convinced that birds are actually government-operated drones, spying on her every move, and she believes that by keeping the windows sealed tight, she can avoid their surveillance.
